About Sarah

My story starts with my grandmother's sourdough starter

Pure love for quality ingredients, all made with heart.

I grew up in my grandmother’s kitchen, standing on a chair beside the bench while she baked fresh sourdough by hand.

Some of my earliest memories are of flour-covered benches, warm bread coming out of the oven, and handwritten recipes that had been passed down through our family for generations. Her sourdough recipe was always special to me, and years later it became the foundation of this bakery.

When I opened Sunshine Bakery here in Terrigal, I wanted to create more than just a place to buy bread. I wanted to build a bakery that felt warm, welcoming, and connected to the local community.

To this day, I still use my grandmother’s original sourdough recipe.

Every loaf is slow fermented, hand shaped, and baked fresh each morning using quality ingredients and traditional methods. I believe good baking takes time, care, and simple ingredients done properly.

What I love most is seeing familiar faces walk through the door each day. Families picking up their weekend bread, friends meeting for coffee, and locals supporting locals.

This bakery is deeply personal to me. It is built on family traditions, fresh ingredients, and a genuine love for sharing food with the community I call home.
